Keeping track of sales trends is difficult enough while waiting for annual financial reports to drop – it’s a long way between drinks if you like. Happily, Merida Industries has seen fit to supply The BIN with an early preview of their 2025 performance.
The Taiwan-based company’s bean counters have revealed what looks very much like a turnaround in sales trends for 2025. Coming from such a large company, these figures give a strong indication of where the industry is headed in the coming year.
Merida reported revenue of almost AU$390,000,000 to the end of March, a stunning increase of almost 30% over the first quarter of 2024.
While Merida may have enjoyed a romping first three months of 2025, April revenue of AU$128,000,000 was disappointing, down almost 15% compared to 2024. The April result is most likely a statistical fluctuation resulting from the timing of sales receipts, and when added to the first quarter totals for 2025, Merida is still 14% up on last year, a major turnaround for one of the most important players in the international bicycle industry.
